We have yet another informative infographic from Visual.ly and some extra tips! This one can help you lessen the strain of a big electricity bill. On top of the infographic, we have some extra tips to help cut that electric bill down.
Clean out filters daily
Electricity is starting to become a bigger burden for families, but a very simple solution in keeping your bill low is keeping the filters for your central air or wall units clean at least monthly. This might sound like an obvious one, but, it can be pretty easy to forget about the filter when you’ve already have a busy schedule. If need be, set a reminder!
Reseal all of those leaks
Another easy fix is to seal up all of those cracks and “leaks” in your windows and doors, as air is naturally going to escape and waste money! Hole up those leaks and you might just find your bill getting lower.
Being environmentally friendly doesn’t mean breaking the bank! There are green-friendly solutions you can implement right now to save on electricity. For example, replacing your light bulbs with green-friendly alternatives–although they can be pricy to initially purchase, the long term investment is totally worth it. Other examples include:
- Cuddle up and stay cozy during the winter months by adding on some extra layers and saving on heat. Nothing is better than curling up in your favorite couch and reading during those cold months, right?
- And during the hotter months, simply close the blinds. This will make sure your air isn’t working extra hard during those hotter summer days and keeping your house cool.
- Have some extra cash you want to spend on fixing up the house? Before you invest in new living room colors, check to make sure your major home appliances are green-friendly, such as EnergyStar brands. It might be time for an update!
And now, without further ado, here is the infographic to “hack” your next electricity bill! If you have anymore tips and tricks you’d like to add to this post, please do add them in the comments below.
